How to Reach Manali from Kolkata by Train
Begin your journey by boarding a train from Kolkata to Delhi. Popular options include Poorva Express, Howrah Rajdhani, or Sealdah Rajdhani. Once you reach Delhi, proceed to the Volvo Bus Terminal at Majnu Ka Tilla or R.K. Ashram Marg. From here, an overnight Volvo bus will take you through the beautiful highways of North India, arriving in Manali by morning.
📍 Day 1: Delhi to Manali by Volvo (Approx. 500 km | 12–13 hrs)
On arrival in Delhi, head to the pre-designated Volvo point in the evening. Settle into your comfortable Volvo AC bus as you begin the overnight journey through the winding roads leading to the Himalayas. The scenic route is lined with hills, pine forests, and the gushing Beas River.
Day 2 : Manali Local Sightseeing
Meals: Welcome Drink + Dinner
Check into your hotel in the morning and unwind. After freshening up, begin exploring Manali’s local gems:
Hadimba Devi Temple: A beautiful wooden temple nestled in cedar forests, dedicated to the goddess Hadimba.
Vashisht Temple & Hot Springs: Famous for its therapeutic natural hot sulphur springs.
Club House: Enjoy indoor games and casual riverside strolls.
Van Vihar: A lush forest park ideal for paddle boating.

Day 3 – 5th April: Solang Valley Adventure & Atal Tunnel – Sissu Exploration
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Today is filled with excitement and scenic beauty. After breakfast, head to the famous:
Solang Valley – Enjoy adventure sports like paragliding, snow biking, zorbing, yak rides, horse riding, and skiing (activities at personal cost).
Atal Tunnel & Sissu – Drive through one of the world’s longest high-altitude tunnels and enter the picturesque Lahaul Valley. Visit Sissu Waterfall and enjoy breathtaking views of the rugged mountains.
🔹 Optional Add-on: Rohtang Pass (open mid-May to mid-Nov): Subject to weather and availability of permits from the local SDM office at extra cost.
Return to Manali by evening and enjoy your dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 – 6th April: Manali – Kullu – Kasol – Manikaran (Approx. 85 km | 2–3 hrs)
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Post breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion through the valley:
Kullu: Visit the traditional Kullu Shawl Factory, shop for woollens and handmade products. Optional white-water rafting is available here.
Manikaran Sahib: A revered pilgrimage spot for both Sikhs and Hindus, famous for hot springs, Ram Temple, and Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib.
Kasol: A serene village on the banks of the Parvati River, known for its natural beauty and relaxed vibes.
After a soul-refreshing day, return to your hotel in Manali for dinner and rest.
Day 5 : Naggar Castle & Jogini Waterfall – Departure to Delhi
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, check out and head for some final sightseeing:
Naggar Castle: A 15th-century heritage building offering panoramic views and traditional architecture.
Jogini Waterfall: A short trek through pine woods leads to this beautiful waterfall—a peaceful and photogenic location.
By evening, board your Volvo bus back to Delhi from the Manali Bus Stand around 5:00 PM. Overnight journey.
Day 6 – 8th April: Arrival in Delhi
Reach Delhi by morning (around 7:00 AM). Continue your return journey back to Kolkata via train or onward flight, carrying memories of a beautiful Himalayan vacation.

Rohtang Pass remains closed on Tuesdays and is open from 15 May to 15 Nov.
Solang Valley & Atal Tunnel remain open year-round, weather permitting.
